Positive Behaviour Support
We are delighted to launch a full range of Positive Behaviour Support programs, including individual interventions for people of all ages, as well as educational programs and home programs for Autism.
While we offer regular courses and workshops on behaviour supports at our learning suite at DCU Alpha, we can facilitate off-site requests for training. We provide training to schools, pre-schools, social care services and parents groups.
At Actualise, we know that once we understand the messages that a person is trying to communicate using their behaviour, we can help them and those closest to them make the changes that will help them communicate this message in other ways. We use the most current assessment and interventions to support our clients.
We focus on assessing how a person’s environment and lifestyle can be changed to help them while learning new skills to help them communicate, socialise, learn and cope better. We are particularly passionate about helping our clients to effectively learn the skills that they require.
Positive behaviour support (PBS) and applied behaviour analysis (ABA) are concerned with identifying the messages that our behaviour communicates. From a child with Autism who doesn’t use words to communicate, a teenager with ADHD whose behaviour is leading to suspensions from school, to an employee who is experiencing conflict in the workplace, PBS can help us to understand the person behind the behaviour and the message that she/he is trying to communicate.
We specialise in offering PBS for:
Emotional and social difficulties
Social care services
