Positive Behaviour Support
We are delighted to launch a full range of Positive Behaviour Support programs, including individual interventions for people of all ages, as well as educational programs and home programs for autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
While we offer regular courses and workshops on positive behaviour support, at our learning suite at Actualise, we can facilitate off-site requests for training. We provide training to schools, pre-schools, social care services and parents groups.
At Actualise, we know that once we understand the messages that a person is trying to communicate using their behaviour, we can help her/him and those closest to them make the changes that will help them communicate this message in other ways.
We use the most current assessment and interventions to support our clients:
We focus on assessing how a person’s environment and lifestyle can be changed to help him/her while learning new skills to more efficiently communicate, socialise, learn and cope with how they feel.
PBS and applied behaviour analysis (ABA) are based on identifying the messages that our behaviour communicates. From a child with ASD who doesn’t use words to communicate, a teenager with attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) whose behaviour can potentially lead to suspensions from school, to an employee who is experiencing conflict in the workplace, PBS can help us to understand the person behind the behaviour and the message that she/he is trying to communicate.
